Lighthouse

there is no lack of wonderment
in those small steps

knowing but not feeling
the unkempt heaviness of another

numbed hand
drawn trek

circumstances sprinkled like sand
turned to dunes

they say
it will just be another thing

a wave to churn the boat
a wind that warps the bridge

to nothingness
but only if it is becoming

because time does not
make an orphan of chance

does not require steel
unprepared to be given

when pity
is no more natural than wings

may these sorrows
be mist

on the lighthouse docks
freed by existence
