A general guide for Premiere Pro CC.
To make the most of your experience with Premiere Pro, here are some helpful tips and tricks to guide you along:
1. Take advantage of previously-learned skills such as Photoshop.
Although Premiere Pro may appear daunting, it shares many similarities to other Adobe products like Photoshop. All Adobe programs have a relatively similar layout to one another, as is the brand standard. This allows you to familiarize yourself with certain aspects of the program, such as window placement, types of settings, etc.
That being said, knowledge of tools and skills are also transferable between programs.
- Look for tools that you recognize, as their function will be the same.
- Even programs that are not Adobe-based, such as MAYA, may share similarities. For example, knowledge of the timeline for MAYA is also applicable to Premiere Pro. Consider how all forms of past experience may be valuable.
- Photoshop allows you to make adjustments via layers. Take note that Premiere Pro is similar, with the only difference being that it uses a drag-and-drop system instead.
