Thank you very much for your in-depth commentary, Notes from Aground. Modes of polarization do appear to be a recurring subject for questioning: new or old, more or less, too much or not enough. Yet, the only true limitation is the linearity of thought. I believe one of the strengths of writing is its ability to be continually malleable in the hands of readers, authors, and passerby alike. Even the most complete work is perpetually unfinished because every reader lends their perceptions and experiences, inviting new avenues of thought through the nexus of the novel. To that end, classical novels are not so much about legacy as they are about reinvention; the conversation need not stop, only grow.
