Spectacular! Sunlight
has been a shot of caffeine
to the veins, sets the heart to
a rattle, sort of ramble,
like the roll of tires across
concrete bumps, which
reminds me it’s Thursday tomorrow!

Today was fine.
The desktop crawled. The pen shrivelled up.
I’ll have papers ready by tomorrow.

Forgive
me. I’m
not terribly
awake. My
brain is the
alligator clip
tousled from
the wagon
at the
turn. I
think, I need
a nap before
tomorrow.

What Do You Want? I Am A Printer Choked
On The Last Print Job That Included The Report
For The Board Meeting In Half An Hour.
Talk To Me Again Tomorrow.

Oh hello. Even though I suppose
it feels more real to be low when the noon is slow,
at the pavement row through the window
a trio of children laughed in the snow
despite the cold, flakes glowed
where they stuck to their elbows
and I know, there’s a sign of a better tomorrow.
